I adopted my dog Gypsy a year ago from the local pound. She pretty much adopted me, if I may say :). She was very shy, reluctant and always scared of everything, and every move that was made around her. She was badly abused by her former owner and she had a rough life until I brought her back home with me. She is spoiled by me and she is the little queen of the house.
I was watching her this morning, when she went out to the backyard like she always do every day, and noticed how she acts and reacts with a very smart squirrel that is always teasing her from the trees. Gypsy was very attentive to what the squirrel was doing and every move she made. My dog stayed in a hunting position, like a lion waiting for his prey, she moved her head in slow motion, and she even looked at moments like a statue. She knew the squirrel was close to her on top of the fence. The squirrel was shaking her tail very fast, looking straight to her, but Gypsy did not lose concentration and kept waiting for the right moment to attack.
Seating inside my home watching the interaction between the squirrel and my dog, I started thinking about us humans. How do we react to people and situations that surrounds us? Do we keep our eyes on the goal? Do we keep our “cool?” Are we persistent enough on getting the things we want to do and accomplish? Are we focused on our dreams and desires of our hearts?
Start looking around, you will learn a lot of lessons. We can learn from a child, the birds, a dog or even a lion on the way they act and react to life. A child don’t keep any resentments, everything is fun and play, and nothing worries them. The birds build their nest with a lot of patience and love for their offspring. Sometimes, they pick tree branches bigger than themselves, so they can provide a safe place for their eggs. A dog is a faithful companion to his master, always in alert mode of everything that surrounds him. Last, but not least, a lion the “King of the jungle” he takes care of his pride,(a lion pack), he will give his own life to rescue one of his. He is always standing tall, like if he is proud of what he is and represent.
As you can see, like I mentioned before, we all can learn something new that will add to better our life and the decisions we make every day. Just look around and you will see great lessons waiting for you. Concentrate in what you want to have, make a plan and pursue your destiny. The only person that can get what you want is you. “I believe, believe with me” 🙂
